Historic Murray United Church in Merritt set to reopen
MERRITT, B.C. — After more than three years, one of Merritt’s historic buildings will be reopening.
Murray United Church is rebuilt and almost ready to be reopened after being burnt down in January 2019.
Richie Gage, financial officer at Murray Church, wanted to say a big thank you to everyone that made this day possible.
“The donor support was just amazing; cash and any kind of contributions were received from individuals, from the contractors, and from the service providers in the valley,” Gage says. “Also, from other B.C. communities. Even other provinces and countries. The congregation of Trinity Untied Church and Murray Church is extremely thankful for the overwhelming support. I would like to also mention that without the support of leadership of David Laird, our project construction manager, we wouldn’t be able to rebuild this church.”
