Four TNRD area directors to be acclaimed; six other areas to vote

KAMLOOPS — While four electoral areas in the Thompson-Nicola Regional District will have acclaimed directors on the next board, there will be elections in the other six electoral areas.

Single candidates came forward before last Friday’s (Sept. 9) filing deadline in Area ‘B’ – Thompson Headwaters (Lee Onslow), Area ‘M’ – Beautiful Nicola Valley North (David Laird), Area ‘N’ – Beautiful Nicola Valley South (Herb Graham) and Area ‘O’ – Lower North Thompson (Jill Hayward).

Voters will choose new directors in the following six electoral areas:

Area ‘A’ – Wells Gray Country

• Carol Schaffer (incumbent)
• Usoff Tsao

Candidates have until Friday, Sept. 16 to withdraw their names from the ballot.

The B.C. municipal elections will take place Oct. 15, 2022.
