ASHCROFT, B.C. — Ashcroft voters will not have to choose a mayor come the Oct. 15 municipal vote.

When the deadline passed for nominations last Friday (Sept. 9), incumbent Barbara Roden was the only name put forward for mayor.

Roden, the editor of the Ashcroft-Cache Creek journal, beat out two contenders to become mayor in 2018.

There are five candidates for four council spots, including incumbents Jonah Anstett and Nadine Davenport. Councillors Debbie Tuohey and Marilyn Anderson are not running for re-election.
