Lake Country man charged with murder in Banff

BANFF — A 20-year-old B.C. man has been charged with second degree murder after allegedly fatally stabbing a man outside a bar on Banff Avenue in the popular tourist destination.

Minutes after midnight on Saturday, John Proule allegedly stabbed a 27-year-old man from Foothills County after a fight. The victim was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Proule is from Lake Country, B.C., a small town south of Vernon. Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit is now investigating the alleged stabbing.
