KAMLOOPS — The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League’s Kamloops Storm will have some NHL pedigree behind the bench for the 2022-23 season.

In a social media post Monday (Aug. 22), the club announced head coach Geoff Grimwood has left to pursue opportunities closer to his family on Vancouver Island.

In Grimwood’s place, the team will be led by local resident Jan Ludvig in the upcoming year.

Born in Czechia, Ludvig played one season with the Kamloops Junior Oilers in 1981-82. He had a 314-game NHL career, mostly with New Jersey, finishing with 141 points.
