Theft in Ashcroft leads to recovery of two stolen vehicles from Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — A theft from a store in Ashcroft last week led to the recovery of two stolen vehicles.

In a news release issued late Sunday (Aug. 21) evening, Ashcroft RCMP say they were alerted of a theft at Fields on Railway Avenue just after 4 p.m. on Aug. 14.

Police say the suspects had fled in a vehicle but left a second vehicle in the parking lot which had been stolen from Kamloops the week before.

The next day on Aug. 15, Ashcroft residents spotted the vehicle that had fled the theft, and they called police. RCMP say that vehicle was also stolen out of Kamloops, and it was recovered on Bancroft Street where one of its occupants was identified.

The investigation is ongoing, RCMP but are asking for the public’s help in identifying two more suspects: a man and a woman.

The man is described as Indigenous, between 30 and 40 years old with a slim build, with black hair, brown eyes, and a goatee on his chin.

The woman is described as white, between 25 to 35 years old with long blonde hair, and flower tattoos on the outside of both her legs.
