Three taken to hospital after boat crash in Oxbow Provincial Park area
SAVONA — Three people were taken to hospital after a Saturday (Aug. 6) night boat crash on the Thompson River in the Oxbow Provincial Park area.
Kamloops Search and Rescue (SAR) was there around 8 p.m. and called in the Royal Canadian Air Forces’ 442 Squadron out of Comox to assist in the rescue, as the subjects were in an area that was “very difficult to reach”.
However, before they arrived, a private or local boat rescued the three people from the water. They were then taken to hospital.
Kamloops RCMP did not respond to a request for comment. More details will be added as they become available.
