KAMLOOPS — The wildfire burning in the Lac du Bois protected area about 16 kilometres northwest of Kamloops has burned 195 hectares and is classified as out of control. However, Fire Information Officer Roslyn Johnson says the fire hasn’t grown much since yesterday.

“The last flight track (mapping) of the area was yesterday morning. However, we only saw rank two to three fire behaviour yesterday, so very minimal growth,” says Johnson.

To thank for the slowed growth is the cooler temperatures in Kamloops Wednesday (Aug. 03).
