Evacuation order in effect for Keremeos Creek wildfire

KEREMEOS CREEK — A wildfire burning 21 kilometres northwest of Penticton within the Kamloops Fire Centre has grown to 100 hectares in size.
The fire was discovered on Friday (July 29) and according to the BC Wildfire Service, the fire is “displaying aggressive fire behaviour.”
An evacuation order is in effect which was issued by the Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen. The order is directed to the area of Green Mountain Road between Highway 3A to the south and Apex Mountain Road to the south and in the general vicinity of Ford Lake.
The cause of this wildfire is currently under investigation.
