Three-vehicle crash on Highway 1 in Salmon Arm sends six patients to hospital

SALMON ARM, B.C. — Six patients were taken to hospital after a three-vehicle collision on Highway 1 in Salmon Arm Monday (July 11) evening.

BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) told CFJC Today five ground ambulances and one air ambulance were sent to First Nations Road in Salmon Arm. Four of the patients were transported to hospital in critical condition, while one was sent in stable condition, and another one was sent with minor injuries.

BCEHS say they received the call moments after 5 p.m. Monday. DriveBC first reported of Highway 1 being closed in both directions between Second Nations Road and Sandy Point Road shortly before 7 p.m.

The highway was reported as fully open shortly after 8 p.m.
