KAMLOOPS — Mats Lindgren had to sit in the Bell Centre stands for a bit longer than teammate Fraser Minten, but the Blazers defenseman finally went in the fourth round to the Buffalo Sabres.
The Sabres took the small, speedy defenseman at 106th overall. Lindgren, who was praised by teams this week for his speed and agility, had five goals and 39 assists in 68 games in Kamloops this season.
Lindgren’s dad, Mats Lingren, played 387 games in the NHL and was taken by Winnipeg in the 1993 NHL Draft.
