KAMLOOPS — A ranking of Canada’s best small cities puts Kamloops in the top 25 — but not as high as its Okanagan rival.

Resonance Consultancy ranks cities based on their desirability for residents, workers and investors. It boasts “the most comprehensive city rankings on the planet.”

In releasing its inaugural rankings of small Canadian cities (population under 200,000), Resonance judged based on six categories: place, product, programming, people, prosperity and promotion.

Kamloops comes in at #18, with the evaluators praising the city’s golf courses, proximity to fishing and skiing, and the surrounding landscape: “bulbous mountains, rolling grasslands, hoodoos and the mighty confluence of the South and North Thompson Rivers.”
