Sahali shoplifter arrested after producing knife: RCMP

KAMLOOPS — RCMP have a woman in custody after a Tuesday night (July 5) armed robbery in Sahali.

Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says the incident happened at about 10:05 p.m., at a store in the 1200-block of Summit Drive. A woman is alleged to have tried to leave the store with unpaid items. When a staff member confronted her, the woman brandished a knife.

“A description of the suspect was provided to responding officers, who were able to locate her hiding in a bush nearby,” said Evelyn.

The suspect was also wanted on an outstanding warrant. She was kept in custody with a court date pending Wednesday.
