Severe thunderstorm watch issued for North Thompson and Shuswap

KAMLOOPS — A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for numerous Interior areas.

As of Wednesday (June 22) morning, Environment Canada says conditions are favourable for severe thunderstorms to develop in the North Thompson, Shuswap, North Columbia and West Columbia. The storms may produce heavy rain, large hail and strong wind gusts.

The weather agency encourages the public to go indoors when the sound of thunder is apparent.
