High streamflow advisories for Southern Interior and Cariboo no longer in effect

KAMLOOPS — The Southern Interior and Cariboo regions are no longer under high streamflow advisories.

As of Tuesday (June 7) morning, the BC River Forecast Centre (BCRFC) says its high streamflow advisories issued to the Southern Interior and Cariboo on June 2 are no longer in effect. The move comes two days after the BCRFC’s flood watch for the East Okanagan and Boundary was downgraded.

A low-pressure system brought unsettled weather and repeated periods of moderate to heavy rainfall across the South Interior region on Friday (June 3) and into Saturday, with areas around Merritt and the headwaters of the Nicola River seeing heavy precipitation.

Floor watches remain in Northern B.C. for Dean River, Liard River, Skeena River and Bulkley River.
