Province puts Spius Creek, Lower Nicola River on flood watch
KAMLOOPS — The B.C. River Forecast Centre (BCRFC) has put several Southern Interior waterways on flood watch as rain falls across the province.
As of 12:45 p.m. Friday (June 3), rivers under flood watch stage include Spius Creek and the Lower Nicola River downstream of Spius Creek, as well as rivers and creek in the East Okanagan, including the Vernon, Kelowna and Penticton areas.
The BCRFC says the low pressure system bringing rainfall into the region is projected to cause several waterways to see increased flows.
At least 15 millimetres of rain is expected throughout most of the region through Saturday.
