Two men with multiple weapons arrested in downtown Kamloops
KAMLOOPS — Two men were arrested in downtown Kamloops early Tuesday (May 31) afternoon.
At 12:15 p.m., Kamloops RCMP say they responded to the footbridge near Columbia Street and Battle Street after a man was allegedly seen riding a bike with what looked to be a handgun sticking out of his backpack.
Police say the first man, who is known to the Kamloops detachment, was found possessing a knife, along with breaching his release conditions. RCMP say they seized bear spray, a mask, knives, and suspected illegal drugs from the second man.
Police say two backpacks were also located nearby, one of which contained a realistic looking pellet pistol and other weapons.
