TCC Fieldhouse to be closed throughout summer for renovations
KAMLOOPS — The Tournament Capital Centre (TCC) Fieldhouse will be closed for most of the summer.
In a news release issued Tuesday (May 31), the City of Kamloops says the Fieldhouse will be fully closed from June 20 to Aug. 22 as it will receive maintenance upgrades, including sanding and resurfacing of the court floor, repainting the track line, and replacing and repairing the curtains.
The City say users can expect a modified track and court schedule with limitations from June 1 to 6 and June 11 to 19, and a short-term full closure from June 6 to 10 to accommodate the Thompson Rivers University Convocation.
“It is important to ensure that our facility is maintained and continues to provide a quality venue for residents and sporting events. The maintenance and warranty work being done during this closure is necessary to meet the needs of the public and all our user groups,” Sean Smith, Kamloops’ business operations and event supervisor, says. “Our objective during this closure is to continue to ensure that patrons have the most positive experience possible as they commit to a healthy, active lifestyle.”
