KAMLOOPS — Hundreds of craft beer lovers flocked to McArthur Island Park Saturday (May 28) for BrewLoops-ish, the Kamloops craft beer festival.

It was the first one in two years and the 900 tickets sold out in just a few days.

BrewLoops president Tyson Andreykew said the festival is a chance to showcase the food and drink that make Kamloops unique.

“We want to bring things like this here. We want to just enjoy Kamloops culture and make sure people that are living here are having access to some of the great food and beverages and entertainment that the city has to offer,” said Andreykew.

For the vendors, like Adam Woodward, operator Woodward Cider Co, the event serves as a way for brewers to talk with customers and show off their product, and to network with other local makers.

“We wanted to get here early so we could just mingle with the other breweries and cideries here, and just chat with them to see, what’s been their aches and pains? And kinda just rekindle those relationships,” said Woodward.

Andreykew said that BrewLoops-ish is a way for them to dip their toes back into live events after two years. There is usually a second BrewLoops event held each September.
