Dense fog covering the Coquihalla Summit Monday morning

KAMLOOPS — Drivers on the Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Merritt Monday (May 30) morning are asked to be prepared to travel through areas with near-zero visibility.
In a special weather statement issued by Environment Canada, the stretch of Highway 5 is expected to have dense fog near the Coquihalla Summit. According to Environment Canada, the fog is forecast to stay for at least two hours and possibly as late as noon. Drivers could expect visibility of less than 500 metres.
If visibility is reduced, drivers are asked to turn on their lights and maintain a safe following distance.
