KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP responded to approximately 392 calls for service from midnight Friday (May 20) to 9 a.m. on Monday (May 23). Below are some highlights from those reports.

300 grams of illegal drugs seized

More than 300 grams of suspected illegal drugs, $3,000 in cash, and suspected stolen identification and electronics were seized following an investigation involving a suspicious vehicle on the North Shore Saturday morning.

Officers were patrolling the 600-block of Schubert Drive when they saw two people sleeping in the front seat of a vehicle, as well as paraphernalia consistent with drug use and trafficking.

Both people were arrested for drug possession.

Large party, large fight on the North Shore

Police are investigating after a large party on the North Shore Saturday night left at least one person assaulted, and another possibly threatened with a weapon.

RCMP say they received multiple calls regarding a group of approximately 80 to 100 youth partying and fighting at MacArthur Island.

Police say while many of the youth scattered when officers arrived, one was found with minor injuries after they were reportedly struck by several people.

Anyone who witnessed the reported fight, or has information or video footage related to it, is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP.

Drugs seized in North Shore traffic stop

A woman was busted with large amounts of drug after failing to obey a stop sign on the North Shore.

After midnight Sunday, an officer was patrolling Seventh Avenue and Alberni Street where he stopped the vehicle.

Approximately 36 grams of suspected cocaine and cash were seized during the search. Both the driver and passenger were arrested and released on scene, pending the investigation’s conclusion and any subsequent charge recommendations.
