Merritt emergency department closed until Tuesday morning

MERRITT, B.C. — Interior Health is alerting residents of the Merritt area that the community’s emergency department is closed Monday (May 16).
In a news release, IH says the ER at the Nicola Valley Hospital will re-open at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.
IH adds the closure is due to “unforeseen limited physician availability.”
Anyone in the Merritt area who needs emergency medical service is still encouraged to call 9-1-1 or, alternatively, visit the emergency departments at hospitals in Kamloops or Kelowna.
