KAMLOOPS — Winter tire routes are no longer in effect, but winter conditions remain on some Interior highways.

Environment Canada issued special weather statements for the Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Kamloops and the Okanagan Connector from Merritt to Kelowna.

In the statement issued Thursday (May 12) morning, Environment Canada says around two to five centimetres of snow is expected for both stretches of roadway from Thursday night to Friday (May 13) morning.

The weather service agency says snow is likely over Southern Interior mountains as a trough of low pressure moves across B.C.
