Singh announces ‘bold ideas’ for Kamloops mayoral campaign
KAMLOOPS — Monday morning (April 25), Kamloops mayoral candidate Arjun Singh announced what he’s calling his campaign’s bold ideas for action. The items are an early platform from the current councillor that he says will continue to evolve through conversations with locals leading up to the election.
His ideas include creating a 24/7 crisis outreach team, reviewing discretionary expenses at City Hall and working with the TNRD to attract a film studio to the city.
Arjun is in support of the new performing arts centre in Kamloops, but he wants to see the need for public subsidy decreased. According to Singh’s announcement, the current business case included a public subsidy of $700,000 in year one. The councillor pointed to the TCC as example of how things could be done.
