Brock bus crash ‘non-criminal’, sent pedestrian to hospital

KAMLOOPS — RCMP say a bizarre crash in Brocklehurst Sunday sent a pedestrian to hospital.

At about 4:20 p.m., a bus careened off of Tranquille Road, hitting a pedestrian on the sidewalk as it left the road and entered the 7-11 service station lot.

Continuing on, the bus crossed Desmond Street and swerved into the parking lot of the Brock Shopping Centre, hitting a parked vehicle and a utility pole, finally coming to rest against a pillar.

RCMP spokesperson Cst. Crystal Evelyn says the pedestrian was taken to hospital in serious-but-stable condition, while the bus driver was also treated for minor injuries.

Evelyn says the cause of the crash is believed to be medical in nature, though the investigation is ongoing.
