KAMLOOPS — Environment Canada is warning drivers of the possibility of heavy snowfall along the Trans-Canada highway east of Kamloops.

The Special Weather Statement advises travellers a weather system moving across British Columbia will give late-season snow to both the Rogers Pass and further east to the Kootenay Pass.

The national weather agency predicts light snow will begin around the noon hour Monday (Apr. 18) before intensifying tonight.

It says the snow will taper off to a few flurries Tuesday afternoon for Kootenay Pass and Tuesday evening for Rogers Pass.
