ADAMS LAKE — Repairs have concluded at the Agate Bay Boat launch on Adams Lake, according to a news release from the Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) Monday (April 11).

Concrete slabs were replaced on the boat launch as three rows of the boat launch ramp were lifted out of the way and a base of clean, crushed rock was installed.

Jaime Vieira, Deputy General Manager of Operations, says the boat launch will now attend to the public’s requirements.

“The boat launch has a ramp of 25 rows of concrete slabs, and the final three rows had settled or slipped. This created a potential boat launching hazard,” said Vieira.

“We were able to complete repairs, and this work will ensure that the boat launch will continue to meet the needs of the public,” Vieira added.

The work was done in March as the Adams Lake water level was low. The press release states an environmental assessment that was conducted in December of 2021 determined that there was no potential for fish spawning activity in the vicinity of the boat launch.

Recreational boaters during the spring and summer months will now be able to use the updated boat launch as warmer weather approaches.
