COVID-19: After weeks of steady decline, hospitalization on the increase in B.C.

VICTORIA — Even as the proof of vaccine comes off in B.C., the province is reporting more people in hospital with COVID-19.

In its latest surveillance report issued Tuesday (Apr. 5), the province’s Ministry of Health shows 334 people in hospital with the virus, up by 13 from Monday. Thirty-five people are in intensive care, a decrease of one.

The number of deaths from the virus was not reported. It eclipsed 3,000 in B.C. last Friday.

The province received 258 new positive COVID-19 test reports, including 85 in Interior Health.
