VIDEO: Kamloops’ singer slays Hollywood Week on American Idol

HOLLYWOOD — Kamloops’ own teenage singing sensation has taken the next step toward his American Idol dream.

Cameron Whitcomb survived Hollywood Week Sunday evening (Apr. 3) on the ABC singing competition to move into the show’s next stage.

Paired with fellow teenage contestant Tristen Gressett, Whitcomb performed the Creedence Clearwater Revival classic, “Have You Ever Seen the Rain?”

The performance drew an enthusiastic reaction from the judges and audience, and Whitcomb punctuated the performance with one of his signature backflips.
