Ashcroft emergency department closes temporarily due to limited staff

ASHCROFT — In a press release Friday (April 1) evening, Interior Health (IH) announced that the emergency department at the Ashcroft Hospital and Community Health Care Centre will be closed temporarily due to “unforeseen limited staffing availability”.

IH advised Ashcroft and area residents to visit the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops or the Nicola Valley Hospital in Merritt if emergency care is required while the department is closed.

The emergency department is usually open 5 to 10 p.m. on Fridays and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The department is expected to re-open by April 8 at 5 p.m.
