EARLIER: KAMLOOPS — Conditions on the Coquihalla Highway from Kamloops to Hope has been a challenge Thursday (March 31) morning.

At 6:15 a.m., DriveBC reported of a jackknifed semi affecting traffic in both directions on Highway 5 approximately 10 to 15 kilometres north of Lac Le Jeune at Timber Lake Forest Service Road. Shortly before 7:30, the service reported that the northbound lanes are completely blocked.

A driver travelling south on the Coquihalla Highway called into B-100 Thursday morning, reporting “semi’s all over the road.”

“If you don’t have to travel right at the moment, I wouldn’t… black ice, snow, everything,” she says.

Drivers are told to expect major delays. DriveBC says crews are en route, and drivers are asked to consider taking an alternate route.

Earlier Thursday, DriveBC issued a road condition notice on its map, warning drivers to watch for slippery sections on the Coquihalla Highway from Surrey Lake Summit to Kamloops.
