Lorne Street partially closed to traffic after diesel spill Thursday afternoon

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Fire Rescue says an area of the city’s downtown has been temporarily closed Thursday afternoon (Mar. 24) while crews clean up a large diesel spill.

The 500-block of Lorne Street is partially blocked off while firefighters, Kamloops RCMP and Community Services Officers assess the scene.

According to a tweet from KFR, authorities are asking anyone who may have seen an unmarked, white van with two male occupants in the area to contact police.

Attention Kamloops. At approx. 11:30 am a large diesel fuel spill was reported at 568 Lorne St. If anyone witnessed an unmarked white van with 2 male occupants in the area please contact RCMP. The area is currently closed. Please plan accordingly. pic.twitter.com/qGMuU86eYj
