Auto wrecking yard and properties in 16 Mile area engulfed in flames over the weekend

CACHE CREEK, B.C. — Ashcroft RCMP say they responded to a fire at an auto wrecking yard in the 16 Mile area north of Cache Creek Sunday (March 20) evening.

While the main residence on the property wasn’t damaged, police say a workshop and some surrounding properties were fully engulfed.

RCMP say members of the public were treated for smoke inhalation at scene, but no injuries beyond that were reported.

The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
