KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP responded to approximately 375 calls for service from midnight Friday (March 11) to 9:00 a.m. on Monday (March 14). Below are some highlights from those reports.

Drug seizure

A sobriety check led to RCMP seizing drugs, cash and items conducive to drug trafficking Friday evening.

During an impaired driving investigation near Todd Road and Crawford Place, an officer located and seized cash, ammunition, knives, an imitation firearm and nearly 2.4 grams of suspected meth.

The driver was later released, pending the investigation’s conclusion.

Gas thefts continue

A Jeep owner was left with an empty tank of gas and a damaged vehicle in Brocklehurst Saturday morning.

RCMP received a report involving a Jeep that had its gas tank drilled and gasoline stolen while it was parked overnight on the 1700-block of Ord Road.

When the owner returned to the vehicle, gasoline was spilled around it and its tank was empty.

Lower Sahali break-in

Officers attended a restaurant on the 1100-block of Columbia Street West shortly before 2:00 a.m. Monday morning where a lock had been pried to gain access and steal money from a till.

The RCMP dog attempted to track the suspect, but no one was located.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP.
