Woman injured, man arrested after stabbing outside Columbia Street motel

KAMLOOPS — A woman is in hospital and a man is in police custody following a reported stabbing at a Columbia Street Motel Tuesday (March 15) evening.

Kamloops RCMP attended a motel on the 1300-block of Columbia Street shortly after 5:00 p.m. for a report of a man armed with a large knife. Officers were advised that someone had been stabbed.

“When officers arrived, they located a woman with serious injuries consistent with a stab wound and quickly administered emergency first aid,” S/Sgt. Todd Wiebe says. “Soon after, she was transported to the hospital by ambulance and is currently in stable condition.”

Officers located and quickly arrested the male suspect.
