Fleetwood Avenue closed until August for road reconstruction

KAMLOOPS — The City of Kamloops is warning Brocklehurst residents that Fleetwood Avenue will be closed between Holt and Desmond Street starting Monday (March 14). The project is expected to be finished in August, and Fleetwood will be closed for the duration with the exception of local traffic.

On street parking is not permitted from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays. The city also advised that driveway access may be temporarily restricted during construction.

Transit is also affected: busses on route 2 will operate on Parkcrest Avenue between Southill Street and Holt Street

The city says the project will include road reconstruction. Crews will conduct utility and road works as well as pedestrian upgrades in the area. There will be water main replacements and new drainage infrastructure.
