KAMLOOPS — The off-road vehicle area at Lac du Bois just outside of Kamloops will welcome members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) for training this weekend.

Beginning Friday (Mar. 4), about 50 Canadian Army Reserve personnel will participate in mounted reconnaissance driver training.

In a news release, the CAF says local residents may see armoured vehicles on local roads. Residents who live near the Lac du Bois area may hear trainees firing blank ammunition.

“This important training is being conducted in order to maintain and further develop the skills of Canadian Army Reserve soldiers in Armoured Reconnaissance operations, and to practice discipline, safety and effectiveness while operating specific vehicle platforms within the local areas,” states the news release.
