KAMLOOPS — RCMP are searching for a driver who reportedly struck a woman with their truck on the North Shore.

Shortly before 9:00 p.m. Monday (Feb. 28), a woman was reportedly walking southbound on Tranquille Road toward Vernon Avenue on the sidewalk and was crossing the Northills Shopping Centre entrance when she was struck by a black truck turning into the parking lot.

In an email to CFJC Today, RCMP say the driver allegedly stopped initially, asked if the woman needed emergency services, then left. Police say the woman was located by a friend shortly after near Vernon Avenue and was later taken to hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.

Anyone who witnessed or has information on the reported strike is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP.
