COVID-19 hospitalizations dip again, 55 per cent of residents 12 and older receive third vaccine dose

VICTORIA — COVID-19 hospitalizations dipped again in B.C.

The Ministry of Health reports 653 patients in hospital with COVID-19 for Wednesday (Feb. 23), down by 35 since Tuesday. Patients in intensive care remain the same at 108.

One new COVID-19 related death was reported in Northern Health for a provincial total of 2,831.

There are 799 new reported COVID-19 cases, with 280 of them in Interior Health.

As of Tuesday, 90.5 per cent (4,513,284) of eligible people five and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, while and 86 per cent (4,284,366) have received their second.

Additionally, 55 per cent (2,549,270) of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received a third dose.
