Six-year-old girl recognized by Kamloops RCMP for bravery after vehicle incident over the weekend
KAMLOOPS — A six-year-old girl was recognized by Kamloops RCMP Tuesday (Feb. 22) for her brave actions over this past weekend.
In a post to its Facebook page, the City of Kamloops says six-year-old Jane Deelstra’s grandmother had a medical episode while they were driving together over the weekend, and crashed near the Kokanee Way exit on the Trans Canada Highway.
Jane managed to walk across the highway to the Flying J gas station and called emergency services, staying on the phone until help arrived. Jane’s grandma was then taken to hospital by emergency responders.
