Merritt woman charged in alleged home invasion

MERRITT, B.C. — A Merritt woman faces numerous charges after an alleged home invasion.

RCMP were called to an apartment building on Quilchena Avenue on Nov. 8, 2021, after the woman, who was identified as another resident of the building, reportedly broke in wielding a baton and assaulting the one resident inside. Police add the incident was caught on surveillance cameras.

The woman was charged with unlawfully being in a dwelling house, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and mischief. The matter is before the courts.
