Blazers win thriller in Everett, come back to beat Silvertips 5-4 in shootout
KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers won a thriller in Everett on Saturday (Feb. 12), defeating the Western Hockey League (WHL) Western Conference leading Silvertips 5-4 in a shootout.
The Blazers faced a 3-0 deficit halfway through the game before Fraser Minten finished a power play chance net front to get them on the board.
With two goals in 21 seconds near the start of the third period, the Blazers came back to tie the game 3-3. Logan Stankoven’s wrist shot in the slot halfway through the third gave the Blazers a 4-3 lead and a chance to leave Everett with two points.
