Seventeen die of COVID-19 in B.C.; hospitalization down to 846

VICTORIA — Seventeen more people have died of COVID-19 in B.C.

In a news release issued Friday (Feb. 11), the Ministry of Health says the province’s COVID-19 death toll is now 2,747. Three of Friday’s death’s occurred in Interior Health.

Hospitalization due to the virus has decreased by 21 to 846 Friday. There are now 136 COVID-19 patients in intensive care.

The province says it registered 1,245 new positive cases, including 335 in Interior Health.

There were two new health facility outbreaks on Friday, but the ministry notes nine outbreaks have been declared over, leaving B.C. with 46 ongoing outbreaks. Those include three in Kamloops: Overlander Residential Care, Ponderosa Lodge and Pine Grove Care Centre.
