B.C. reports no new COVID-19 deaths; 50 per cent of residents 12 and older have received third vaccine dose
VICTORIA — No new COVID-19 deaths were reported in B.C. for Tuesday (Feb. 8), leaving the provincial death toll at 2,707.
Additionally, a news release from B.C.’s Ministry of Health states COVID-19 hospitalizations decreased by one from Monday to 986, while intensive care patients went up by five to 146.
Between Jan. 24 and Feb. 6, B.C. reported 1,091 COVID-19 hospitalizations. The fully-vaccinated population accounted for 750 of those (68.7 per cent), the unvaccinated 287 (26.3 per cent) and the partially vaccinated 54 (five per cent).
However, per 100,000 population adjusting for age, 77.1 patients were unvaccinated, 44.3 were partially vaccinated and 16 were fully vaccinated.
