Five charged after RCMP break up New Westminster-Kamloops drug pipeline
KAMLOOPS — Five Kamloops-area residents are facing charges after a nearly two-year RCMP drug investigation led to the seizure of huge quantities of illicit drugs.
In a news release, Cst. Crystal Evelyn of Kamloops RCMP says the detachment’s Targeted Enforcement Unit (TEU) launched the investigation in April, 2020.
Three months later, officers raided a home in the 600-block of Comox Avenue, finding cocaine, fentanyl and a loaded prohibited gun — a .22 LR calibre Savage model A22 semi-automatic rifle.
