Resiliency centre services extended in Cache Creek and Spences Bridge
KAMLOOPS — The Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD), in partnership with the Gold Country Communities Society, announced that resiliency centres will be open weekly during February in Cache Creek and Spences Bridge.
Residents affect by flooding can access services – such as mental health support, accommodation, meals and Disaster Financial Assistance application – on Feb. 2, 9, 16 and 23. The Spences Bridge location at the School House on 4800 School St. will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., while the Cache Creek location at Gold Country Office at 1095 Todd Rd. will be open from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Through the Interior Savings Internet to Go pilot program, the TNRD says five Chromebooks and Kajeet hotspot devices will be available to borrow in Spences Bridge or Cache Creek, on a first come, first-serve basis, for up to four weeks.
Additionally, support services for flood-affected residents remain available in the City of Merritt. As of Tuesday (Feb. 1), the resiliency centre in Merritt is now open at 101-1700 Garcia St.
