Blazers beat down Royals at Sandman Centre again, win 6-1
KAMLOOPS — On Friday (Jan. 28), the Kamloops Blazers continued a trend at the Sandman Centre during the 2021-22 Western Hockey League (WHL) season: make hockey miserable for the Victoria Royals.
For the third time this season, the Blazers peppered the Royals with 50 shots on net en route to a 6-1 win at home. Luke Toporowski continued his hot start since arriving from the Spokane Chiefs, putting back a rebound 50 seconds in for his sixth goal in four games as a Blazers. Daylan Kuefler and Fraser Minten followed up with goals within five minutes to put Kamloops up 3-0, and they never looked back.
The Blazers have won four straight games and improved to 26-11-1, good for 53 points in 38 games, first in the B.C. Division, and second in the WHL Western Conference.
Kamloops hosts Victoria again Saturday (Jan. 29) from the Sandman Centre at 7 p.m.
