COVID-19 hospitalization rises in B.C.; 13 more die
VICTORIA — The province is reporting hospitalization due to COVID-19 back up in B.C. Thursday (Jan. 27), to 977 patients. That’s an increase of 28 from Wednesday.
In a news release, the provincial health ministry reports 141 of those individuals are in intensive care, up from 136 a day ago.
Thirteen more people have died of the virus in the past 24 hours, upping the provincial death toll to 2,588. One of the newly-recorded deaths occurred in Interior Health.
The recorded case total in B.C. Thursday was 2,033, including 539 in IH. The ministry says IH has 7,669 of the province’s 29,556 active cases.
