KAMLOOPS – A fire has broken out in the yard of an autowrecker in Chase, sending thick clouds of black smoke into the morning sky.
The flames were first spotted around 5 A.M. among some cars destined for recycling and some trailers containing auto parts. The fire jumped from it’s initial location to a nearby pile of old road tires.
Gary Lanoue owns Adrenaline Auto Recyclers. He says members of the Chase Volunteer Fire Department are being assisted by volunteer fire departments from Pritchard and Adams Lake, in batteling the flames. RCMP members and members of BC Emergency Health Services are also on the scene.
