KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP have a man in custody after he allegedly swiped a police car with a stolen truck early Friday (Jan. 14) morning.
Around 3 a.m., officers observed a truck traveling at around 15 km/h on Royal Avenue on the North Shore. Several officers tried to stop the truck, which swiped a police car before being boxed in by the officers.
RCMP says the driver, 26-year-old Patrick Malcom Schryver, then allegedly fled on foot, fought with police, and resisted arrest before ultimately being arrested. He’s currently in custody on several charges, including failing to stop for police.
The truck was later confirmed as stolen out of Kelowna and is part of a separate investigation.
